I spent a little longer working on today's stage. As you can see on the map, it's far from straight, and there are shorter routes to Åsnen National Park. On today's route, however, I will see Mörrum, whose eponymous river I will later follow northwards, and I will visit Karlshamn, a harbour town that is at least historically significant. Breakfast, pack and off I go.

Today is perfect cycling weather, mostly sunny, not too hot and hardly any wind. The route follows the railway line as far as Sölvesborg, then follows the coast via Norje to Mörrum. The village is not very spectacular, but the river Mörrum is all the more so. From here you can follow the river on foot through the nature reserve of the same name to the north. I take a small diversions by bike.

In Karlstad, I follow the river to the southern edge of the harbour. To my astonishment, I find an Italian restaurant here, and to my even greater astonishment, I get an excellent pizza.

Full and satisfied, I continue my journey. I do my shopping in Karlshamn before heading north on the famous ‘Banvallsleden’. In Svängsta I am reunited with the river Mörrum, and a few kilometres further on I find a wonderful resting place on the banks.
