And this is my home for the night.

This morning everything is still wet from the overnight rain. But on the way north, the sun dries the roads and the early risers are already bathing on the coast.

The villages along the coast are very colourful and charming. I cycle through Skillinge and later through Simrishamn, where you soon have to leave the coast due to restricted areas.

I take a short break in the ‘heights’ and let a rain front pass. Back on the coast, I cycle through Kivik, once a pretty fishing village, but now a busy open-air museum with souvenir shops, smokehouses and restaurants.

Once again, the navigation takes me around a restricted military area away from the coast. I make a mental note to research the opening times of the restricted areas better next time.

The small town of Åhus, the birthplace of Absolut Vodka, is a feast for the eyes. After a summer thunderstorm, the colours light up and I continue north along the river. This time the navigation system wants to take me through the Rinkaby restricted area, but the signs absolutely and unequivocally forbid it.

After a short diversions around the restricted area, I find my camp for the night in a small wood next to a stable.
