Mounted the tent in the rain

First time on this trip: mounted the tent in the rain.

There is almost no more idyllic way to start the day than to be slowly woken up by the surf. A glance at the sky doesn't bode well, however, and fortunately the Nordic gods let me have breakfast and pack in peace before the rain sets in.

Undeterred by the rain, I drive up the east coast of the island. Empty stalls and numerous terraces bear witness to busier times.

On the north side of the island, things get a little more hectic. Lots of smokehouses, restaurants, cars and people line the road. But you are rewarded with a few climbs, the first with up to 8% and 80 metres in altitude. Not easy with a total weight of 40kg.

But the steady rain cools things down nicely, and if you pitch your tent under a tree in the rain, it's your own fault. While everyone else is already enjoying a dry evening, it continues to rain for hours under my tree.
