Looks very smooth, but wasn't.

This place ranked 2nd of the worst mosquito places on the trip.

Night camp in the wood

During my morning coffee in the forest between Rostock and Sanitz, I plan the day's stage. Unlike yesterday, I don't want to cycle to a highlight late at night and then have no time. That's why I decide on a slightly shorter route so that I can visit Stralsund in peace and quiet tomorrow.

The weather is sunny and warm and the cycle paths allow me to cycle at a good speed and cool down. After a swim in the River Recknitz near Bad Sülze, I continue towards Stralsund. The scenery is beautiful, especially around Franzburg and Lake Richtenberg. However, the quality of the paths left a lot to be desired. I struggle through the heat at a snail's pace until I finally reach the forest near Borgwallsee.

What a nature experience. The forest borders a marshland and millions of little frogs hop through the forest and along the paths. At the campsite, billions of extremely aggressive mosquitoes join them. I put on a mosquito net and put in earplugs to sleep, because so many mosquitoes can be quite noisy.
